Project Five- Light, Shadow, Reflection Margaret Bourke White

When looking up the photographer Margaret Bourke White I didn't know what to expect, but I really like her photos and the stories that seem to be held behind them. At a glance so many people could come up with different ideas about what the photos are about, though they all seem to flow well, even compositionally being so different. The photos I picked intrigues me. I'm a fan of the black and white as well as how moving the pictures are. These photos are so different yet in everyone you can sense the same emotion, helplessness.
Out of all the photos this may be my favorite, even though you can't see this persons face I already know what it will look like which would be really hard to capture.

Back lit image  of my choice:
Marcus Quagmire

This image is a silhouette of person but has been back lit with an eerie blue color light. I believe the image isn't properly exposed since this figure is black, but I think that's what  he intended. I believe he probably took the meter reading from the aperture because if he had the intention to make the figure dark, he knew he must need little light. The mood to me is kinda eerie and dark it looks like it could be a picture in a scary movie. But the title of the image is " Good Night" so maybe it's just supposed to be peaceful night photo. I think if the photographer metered the opposite of what he did the photo would be extremely light. It may look cool, but I'm not sure with both the blue light if it would cause the photo to be almost bright white.  I like this photo though and I would like to try something similar when shooting.
